Halfway there...
Is it just me or it’s crazy how time flies so fast? The 2nd quarter has wrapped up, and as I continue my journey to the 3rd quarter, I find myself taking a moment to acknowledge and reflect on my actions together with my mindset during this 2nd quarter.
For starters, I have to admit
that I wasn't giving my best effort during this quarter. I found myself being
lazy when it came to schoolwork, often prioritizing my own interests. For
instance, I'd make plans to wake up early and review for upcoming quizzes,
thinking that a fresh mind in the morning would help. However, I ended up
oversleeping because I was occupied with my own things instead of resting. I
have to acknowledge that about halfway through the quarter, I became aware of
this behavior. I genuinely wanted to break free from this pattern, but
unfortunately, the temptation to procrastinate got the better of me. I
convinced myself that I could bounce back whenever I 'needed' to, or when I was
'supposed' to. Well, that approach didn't work out too well for me, as I ended
up cramming for schoolwork and receiving lower grades.
Supposedly, this quarter was
meant to be my opportunity to achieve the best version of myself academically,
but unfortunately, I fell short. Although I feel a bit of regret because I know
I could have done better, dwelling on it won't help me in the present. To
redeem myself, I need to address something I consistently struggle with—my
discipline. Discipline stands out as one of the most powerful weapons that can
assist in achieving success, not only in academics but also in real-life
scenarios. With discipline, I can accomplish a multitude of things; it can help
me stay determined, committed, and strong, even when I am facing tough
challenges and trials. I want to vow to myself that in the next quarter, I will
prioritize discipline, aiming to finally reach the great version of myself.
Good luck for the next quarter, my fellow students!
