Be the Change You Wish to See: Cleaning up for a Greener Tomorrow!
Greetings, my fellow earthlings! ๐๐ฑ๐ณ I created this photoblog because I want to share y’all my experience
and knowledge during the World Clean and Green Week. Without further ado, let’s go!
First and foremost, I realized that in order to protect and care for the environment, we need to start within ourselves. For instance, a person wanting to participate in such campaigns that involve the conservation of our mother nature but doesn't apply it in his or her own household. How hypocritical, isn't it?
Ever since I was a child, I've seen my mother's passion and love for nature. She would plant as many trees, ornamental plants, vegetables, and fruits as much as she wanted. She would water them and clean the surroundings. She would collect plastic bottles, plastic bags, and more to reuse and recycle them, as well as to often remind me to turn off any appliances that I am not using to save energy. I am genuinely grateful that my mother taught and guided me on the importance of the environment and being mindful of sustainable practices. As a result, I am following in my mother's footsteps and have developed a deep commitment to environmental stewardship because I also want to make a positive impact.
Thereby, my mother even helped me in the execution of my research or experiment on the use of biodegradable waste materials as a fertilizer in the growth of the Pechay seeds that I planted. Instead of being burned or thrown out, causing pollution that will have a negative and massive effect on the environment.
Furthermore, I asked my friends Lishanaia and Xianrielle to join me in cleaning up the litter that was strewn across different places and they joyfully agreed.
The first location we visited was at Lishanaia's barangay. I was pleasantly surprised to find a little bit of scattered trash. I assumed that the residents were highly aware and active in maintaining the cleanliness of their surroundings. So, we just sweep off the dry leaves and some plastic, then put them in the right trash bin.

Moreover, since Lishanaia's place is just 3.1 km away from the beach. We planned to drop by and search for some litter to clean up by riding on an e-bike instead of using vehicles that emit smoke, so we can reduce our carbon footprint. According to Conserve Energy Future, Electric Bikes provide several environmental benefits such as offering zero emissions, no contribution to environmental pollution, utilization of sustainable energy, and overall eco-friendliness. My friends and I are thrilled to do our best to find ways to lessen our impact on the environment and promote a more sustainable future for the sake of our planet and future generations.
At the seashore, we noticed that there wasn't much scattered trash, although we kept searching and found some small quantities of plastic. People might think that it is useless or "what's the essence of picking up litter when it's not even that much?" Come to think of it, scattered trash is like filling up a bucket with water. As the water droplets accumulate one by one, the bucket
eventually becomes full. Similarly, every piece of litter, no matter how small it is, it contributes to the overall pollution of our environment. By picking up even the
seemingly insignificant litter, we are preventing further degradation
and taking a crucial step towards preserving the beauty and health of our
surroundings.
Additionally, the 3rd location was taken place at my barangay. I invited my friends once again to join me in making the area greener. We gathered and piled up all the scattered trash, not only making the side of the roads look neat but also fostering a sense of pride and responsibility within the community. The act of clearing the trash not only improves the aesthetics of the area but also creates a healthier and safer environment for both residents and animals. It encourages others to follow suit and be more mindful of their waste disposal habits, promoting a cleaner and more sustainable neighborhood. Also, by strongly addressing the issue of littering, we are expressing a message that we care about our environment and we are committed to preserving its elegance and ecological balance.

In conclusion, as I write this, I reflect on the vital role Mother Nature plays in our lives as human beings. We should all work as one and do our best to protect and preserve it. I realize that World Clean and Green Week should not be limited to just one week out of the year, rather it should be a daily commitment and a habitual practice. We must understand that even the smallest actions can have a significant effect when performed consistently. Likewise, it is important to share our knowledge and experiences with others, including our family and friends, to help them appreciate the blessings bestowed upon us by The Almighty.
Thank you for reading until the end! May God bless you and have a wonderful day! (ใฅเน•แด•เน)ใฅ♡❀๐คฃ๐ฅง๐กผ
